Description

Ascophyllum nodosum, commonly known as kelp, is a brown seaweed of the Fucales family that can grow up to 2 m long. This seaweed colonizes the rocks in sheltered areas along the rocky coasts of the North Atlantic.

Composition

Ascophyllum nodosum contains a lot of dietary fiber (> 40%). This alga is also composed of several minerals and trace elements of interest for human health. In addition, it is very rich in polyphenols and vitamins.
